Michael Karl is an accomplished performer, teacher, and studio owner who has dedicated his career to fostering the talents of aspiring artists. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Belmont University, Michael possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in the performing arts industry. He honed his craft from a young age, studying voice at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) in Houston, Texas and performing with companies such as the Houston Grand Opera, Masquerade Theatre, Disney Cruise Lines, AD Players and Working Title Playwrights.
He has studied vocal pedagogy and continues to learn under the guidance of renowned vocal coach Lisa Haupert, Singing teacher trainer using evidenced-based practices from the field of vocal science and human learning theory.
In 2017, Michael founded Michael Karl Studio, a performing arts studio in Atlanta, Georgia. He has trained over 1500 students from across the US and Canada, helping them to discover and reach their full potential as singers and performers. Michael specializes in helping students master the mix voice technique, has a deep understanding of CCM and musical theatre. He also leads the Studio’s University Prep™ program, which is designed to prepare students for the most critical aspect of the college application process – the auditions. His students have gained entrance to some of the most competitive Acting, Musical Theatre, and Music programs in the US, including NYU Tisch, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Ithaca College, Belmont University, University of Miami, University of Hartford, among many others. Michael’s passion for teaching centers around his guiding principle that art is for everyone. He is dedicated to helping his students find and develop their inner artist and reach their full potential.
